Tragic Killing of 40-Year-Old Pygmy in Kanungu Under Investigation

Police in Kanungu District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged stabbing and death of a 40-year-old pygmy, David Kacucu.

Kacucu, a resident of Kegoma Cell, Kihembe Parish, Kanyantorogo Subcounty, was found dead along Karukara Road on the morning of November 25, 2024.

According to reports, passersby discovered the body lying by the roadside and alerted the Local Council 1 Chairperson of Rukarara Cell, who subsequently informed Kanyantorogo Police. The police later notified Kanungu Central Police Station (CPS).

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson, confirmed that the scene was visited and documented. Relatives identified the body, which has since been taken to Kihiihi Health Center Mortuary for a postmortem examination. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
