Police in Mbarara City have apprehended 12 individuals accused of trafficking 63 people aged between 17 and 30 years under the guise of providing employment opportunities.
According to Rwizi Regional Police spokesperson Samson Kasasira, the suspects lured the victims from districts as far as Arua, charging them fees ranging from UGX 120,000 to UGX 1.5 million. Once recruited, the victims were confined in rooms located in Kisenyi and Rwentondo cells, Kakoba Division, and were coerced into enticing others to join the purported company.
