Chairpersons and loan committees of Parish Community Associations in Kiruhura District that benefited from the Rwenzori-Luwero Triangle Fund have been urged to encourage members to repay their loans promptly. This will ensure the revolving fund benefits more people within the community.

The call was made by Hon. Jovanice Rwenduru, the Woman MP for Kiruhura District, during the Annual General Meeting for monitoring, supervision, and accountability of Akotongore Parish Community Association. The meeting took place yesterday at Obuyonja Church of Uganda in Akotongore Ward, Rushere Town Council.

Hon. Rwenduru noted that Kiruhura District received over UGX 100 million from the Rwenzori-Luwero Triangle Fund. The money has benefited three parishes: Akotongore Ward in Rushere Town Council, Kasana Parish in Kinoni Sub-county, and Kitura Parish in Kitura Sub-county.

“This initiative is aimed at creating jobs and building wealth among families. Members must honor their repayment obligations to sustain the fund for others,” she emphasized.

Meanwhile, King Martin Kyanyawanga, Mayor of Rushere Town Council, urged local council chairpersons to actively monitor and support government programs in their respective areas to ensure effective implementation and accountability.
